Designed with doctors in mind
Hesitant to disrupt established work processes that have worked for decades, some medical professionals are understandably reluctant to make the “big move” from analogue to digital.
This is why the team at Altron HealthTech made a concerted effort to develop HealthONE with the needs of clinicians top of mind. HealthONE was co-created with the input of medical doctors to ensure that it ticks all the right boxes for practising health professionals.
“Historically, these types of tech products have not been developed with doctors in mind, which is why we were determined to engage with clinicians when designing HealthONE,” says Nicolette Mudaly, Altron HealthTech’s Strategic Growth Executive.
“We wanted to understand doctors’ pain points and to get to the bottom of why some clinicians are still reluctant to move over from pen and paper to a digital system. We learned about clinicians’ workflows and the systems they used to treat their patients. We came to understand that each doctor has their way of working and that our product needs to fit in with that.”
In order to leverage global EHR experiences and lessons in best practice, work-class software developers were brought on to design and build HealthONE. The development team, in collaboration with clinicians, were pulled into these design sessions to help address the doctors’ various preferences and pain points, down to even the positioning of certain buttons on the user interface.
